What Steve tells us

Where possible my aim is to challenge the fundamentals and boundaries of photography and to strive to be unique in my preferred style of photographic art.

The artwork collections on this website showcase the genres that I work with -

• ·         Still life - Very much my comfort zone.

• ·         The countryside - A nostalgic look at life in the Victorian times.

• ·         A day at the seaside - Sunshine, sea, sand and all things nautical.

• ·         Life in the city - The bright lights of the city.

• ·         A surreal world - Everyday life with a surreal twist.

• ·         Various aspects . . . - All things and everything

My goal is to create a picture that portrays mood, atmosphere and emotion but with occasional surrealism and impressionism included. Achieving this may involve purposely removing the clinical sharpness that is generally associated with a photograph or possibly working on the colour palette to allow the colours to bleed and become more fluid.

I have previously served on the Royal Photographic Societies Fine Art Distinctions Panel and have some work included within the RPS Permanent Collection. An invitation to membership of the London Salon of Photography was proudly accepted in 2011.
